ABOUT THE ARTIST
Doron Ben is a fifth-generation Jerusalemite of Moroccan heritage whose artistic journey began unexpectedly in 2018. What started as a deeply personal response to a pivotal turning point in his life soon evolved into an enduring creative practice. Through painting, Ben found both refuge and revelation - a language through which turmoil could be transformed into expression.
Ben's artistic language was profoundly shaped by the works of Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, and Rembrandt. Working in a distinctly expressionist style, his compositions are defined by raw, heavily layered brushwork, rich textures, and a restrained, moody palette. Balancing intensity with vulnerability, Ben's paintings possess a dark, atmospheric allure that has become his unmistakable signature, inviting viewers into emotionally charged landscapes where struggle and beauty coexist.
Today, Ben's works reside in private collections across Israel, Europe, and the United States, reflecting his growing international reach.
